Junior Development – Update

The junior organisation continues to grow with 20 players attending the Nov. 14th medal.

A junior committee meeting was conducted Tue 25th with several proposals being raised.  These proposals will be further discussed at the club’s general committee meeting this week. A report will be available shortly.

Mats are now required on the fairway (not from the rough), the club has kindly purchased 4 for the juniors to use on the 4 hole medal. If players are playing 18 it is recommended they purchase a mat from Pro shop (£13). 1 x mat will be given to the eldest of the group playing 4. We have already lost 1 so we ask the nominated holder of the mat to please take care and to try not to lose it.

We are looking at alternative options for some of our more novice players who currently play 4 holes. This will likely involve some activities on the practice area to help prepare these future stars and make sure they are ready to play the full course.

Lessons are going well with Scott fully involved. It is recommended when buying golf balls that the adult buys 50 @ £4 with the child then getting another 50 for half price @ £2. This will means 100 balls will cost £6. Note that most times 50 balls do not last the hour.

Lessons next week 02 & 04 Dec, will be amalgamated to the Wed @ 6pm. This will be in the clubhouse (and NOT at the driving range) where we will run a putting competition. Any queries contact Scott on 01505 320032

To keep all safe on the course can we request that, if you have not already done so, you complete the next of kin details to ensure we have accurate contact details.

Parents are encouraged to utilise the clubhouse whilst waiting for their junior players on a Sunday morning. To comply with our licensing laws we ask that parents have their children sign them in using the visitor book in the foyer. We’d also respectfully ask parents to familiarise themselves with the club’s dress code if they have not already done so.
