On Sunday 27th August we will host this year’s annual charities day, this year’s chosen charity is “Lucy’s Star” this is a non-profit organisation and is a local charity.
Local couple Michael and Jillian McLeod sadly lost their daughter Lucy in December last year, Lucy was born asleep, and since then the couple have dedicated themselves to launching a charity in her name and to raise money for special “cuddle cots” that allow bereaved parents to spend some more precious time with their child.
Check out their facebook page for more information. https://www.facebook.com/lucysstar/
We are still looking for players, if you would like to play and don’t have a partner then please let me know as we have some single players looking to play.
Please note that this is open to NON members & NON golfers, so please encourage friends and family to take part. The Club and this charity need YOUR support.
Juniors can also go out in a team, they will be charged £10.00 per couple.
Thank you to those members who have already handed in raffle prizes and donations, but we still need MORE. Anyone wishing to donate or hand in a raffle prize then please leave behind the bar.

Elderslie defeated Paisley in the final of the Newton Shield at Old Ranfurly to take the title for a 4th time.
In a very close match, they ran out winners by 4 1/2 to 3 1/2. Wins for Colin Edgar, Alistair McDougall, James MacDonald and Lee Jenkins and a halved match by Stuart Cameron saw them through.
A very successful season for the team who already claimed the Spiers Trophy saw them win 10 of their 12 matches – a tremendous effort.
Congratulations goes to the team and to the manager Cameron Robertson for an excellent result.
