On Saturday the gents compete for the Whelan and Gordon Trophy whilst the ladies have the Hidden Holes event. The Juniors have their Summer Meeting on Sunday.
A great day with over 45 entrants saw Aidan O’Hagen of Old Ranfurly win the Elderslie Junior open. Aidan is one of the top juniors in Scotland who at the tender age of 14 already has a handicap of 2 and has represented Scotland.

Junior visit British Open
Just like last year the club kindly financed the juniors visiting the British Open. Craig (Junior Helper) was supported by Alastair in keeping the youngsters in check. The weather was kind as were numerous players who took time out to sign autographs and support “selfies”. The club not only paid for the Open they even paid for the train tickets!! We are so fortunate to have a club that genuinely cares for the up and coming future golfers. The boys enjoyed the play zone where we bumped into a member who is working at the event (Colin Edgar). Young Josh even made it onto the STV News !!
Junior Open 2016
A fantastic turn out of 42 juniors supported the 2016 Juinor Open. An event that is regualrly being cancelled in other clubs due to lack of numbers, both Scott and Colin made sure that this did not happen at Elderslie with a massive effort via telephone, emails and social media to generate the impressive numbers. Onto the golf….. even with the wet weather the scores were impressive, all chasing the fantastic prizes that Scott had generated. Not forgetting the younger juniors, a seperate 8 hole competition was created for them (thanks Neil), which witnessed two Elderslie juniors winning, Sophie and Makin McGrorty. With a full clubhouse of juniors the prizes were handed out, well done to the new Elderslie Junior Champion Roddy McAuley (Fereneze/Caldwell/4 hncp) who shot an impressive 64. Other juniors of note were Jack Burns who took 1st in the net score with an amazing 63, and Ben Campbell who took 2nd including closest to the pin. A great turn out by all, many thanks to the bar staff and the supporting scorecard team who managed all incoming scores.
