  • Elderslie Juniors play Renfrewshire Girls Elderslie Juniors play Renfrewshire Girls

Saturday witnessed a great contest between the juniors and Renfrewshire girls. The match was a nail biting event with two of the 4 ball better ball finishing on the 18th. Sadly we lost all 4 matches however the contest taught our juniors so much in competition play. The play presented the players with tension, nerves and pressure putts. The Renfrewshire girls were a pleasure to host and have a number of excellent players (2 of which are in our Newton Shield team). I hope you all appreciate the picture to get a feel for the day. Many thanks to Scott and Audrey for organising the event, as well as James for supporting the team.

  • Gents and Juniors competition

A beautiful morning witnessed the gents take on the juniors for the yearly club challenge. The gents team supported five players with handicaps all below 5, the juniors unfazed took to the challenge with a strong performance from all of them. Over the next 4 hours all matches swayed either way with the final outcome as below.  Many thanks to Cammy for organising the game and the gents in general for the experience gained.  Next year the juniors are confident they can give the gents a bigger challenge !! Cammy: Beat Ben on the 18th / Beat Jordan 3 & 2 James M: Beat Ethan 9 & 8 / Jack 5 & 4 Scott E: Beat Jorg 2 & 1 / Beat James 2 & 1 / Josh won 4 & 3 David (Captain)/Scott B: David / Scott beat Caolen 8 & 7 / David beat Lewis on the 18th /Lewis halved with Scott B Well done to Josh and Lewis for their great scores 🙂

  • Juniors play Barrasie (Kilmarnock)

12 juniors from the club battled fierce weather today playing a return match at Barrasie. The overall score witnessed Barrasie winning all matches bar one (well done Jack).  The juniors continue to learn the harsh reality of competition golf with difficult weather playing a major factor, however it was pleasing to know on their return to Elderslie many of them went out to address their weaknesses. Barrasie were fantastic host with honest hospitality and great food, many thanks to their Junior Convenor Craig for making the day possible. Can I also thank the Dads and Mum who supported driving us there and back, and not forgetting Scott for supporting the juniors in all aspects.
