• Juniors welcome Barrasie for friendly Match

Elderslie Newton Shield squad welcomed 12 juniors from Kilmarnock Barrasie for a friendly challenge organised by Scott. With 30% of our juniors experiencing competition for the first time it was a fantastic event. Barrasie fielded a strong team that won overall by 8 ties to 4, special mention must go to Heather, Laura, Cameron and Craig who won their individual ties.  Barrasie has kindly offered a return match in a few weeks time. Many thanks to Scott for organising and the club for proving cracking food to all that took part.

  • Junior Development Coaching Date

*** Junior Development Coaching at Elderslie Golf Club *** In an effort to get more of our junior members playing and using their membership, Scott has kindly scheduled FREE Coaching Sessions on the 28th of February from 12pm to 3pm. For Example: 12pm to 1pm (10 Spaces) 1pm to 2pm (10 Spaces) 2pm to 3pm (10 Spaces) If you would like to book your child into a space all you have to do is phone or email me prior to the Fri 27th Feb. • Junior Update (Tee off times/General Club Information)

Junior Update (Tee off times/General Club Information) It has come to light over the past few Sundays, some minor issues in respect to the current juniors’ tee off time and in particular the level of knowledge and etiquette of some juniors on the course when playing unsupervised.  We are therefore requesting parents whose children are not ready to play without supervision to accompany them on a Sunday ensuring they are both safe and abiding with general course etiquette.  The children will be deemed course ready by the Club Professional or if they have a handicap of 28 or under.  It is recommended you speak to either Scott or Craig when attending on a Sunday to determine if your child is course ready (or for any advice on club etiquette). From the 01 Mar 15 the new tee off times will commence: 11.00 – 11.30: Junior 28 and under Handicappers 14.30 – 15.00: All remaining juniors accompanied by parents/guardians The first Junior Competition will commence 22 Mar 2015 with Tee reserved from 11.00 – 11.30.  This will be the dedicated tee off time for the season. A quick reminder on recommended dress/etiquette for juniors on/off course: On Course: Dress trousers (school trousers etc) or waterproofs. A collared t-shirt or roll neck (numerous undergarments to keep warm). Suitable footwear (no trainers). Appropriate jacket/waterproof (no hoody’s). Headgear as required. No phones or music players to be used whilst playing. In Clubhouse: Dress trousers (school trousers etc) A collared t-shirt or roll neck etc. Suitable footwear (no trainers or […]

  • Steak Night

Both myself (Craig Campbell) and James McLaughlin enjoyed the steak night with our two boys.  The boys were over the moon with the food as were the Dads at under a tenner each with pudding included!! Why not come down with your young golfers to enjoy a fantastic cheap night (just phone the bar to book yourself in).

  • Snooker Room

Ben (Junior Vice Captain) takes advantage of the new ruling to permit the junior’s to play snooker when playing a senior member (his Dad was the victim!) Another positive change in the club to support the juniors.
